Edinburgh, capital of Scotland since 1437, is a human-sized city of 450 000 inhabitants. On a relatively large area and preserved beside the River Forth estuary (Firth of Forth), there is good.
This environment is valued by the ranking of districts in the New Town and Old Town since 1995. 2nd tourist city of the United Kingdom after London, Edinburgh is nicknamed the Athens of the North. Indeed the old city is often compared to the Athenian Acropolis.

Hogmanay, New Year in Edinburgh
The party often lasts 3 days, from December 31 to January 2, in the Scottish tradition. Enjoy year if you're in the neighborhood on those days.

In August, the Edinburgh Festival hosts numerous shows and attractions for 3 weeks, positioning it as a major world festivals.
William Wallace
For movie fans, you can collect the William Wallace monument in Stirling in the suburbs of Edinburgh. On the crag of the Abbey Craig, a tower built in his honor. At Stirling Wallace drove the English in 1297.
