| Cow Tarine or Tarentaise, Queen of Beaufort. His height at withers is 130 to 135 cm for females and 140 to 145 cm for males. The cow tarine can reach 600 pounds at adulthood. |

The cow milk Tarentaise is used in the manufacture of cheeses: Beaufort, Reblochon, Tome Bauges, Tomme de Savoie and Emmental. Tarentaise breed contributes to the landscape quality of Savoy. In summer, tarine contribute to the maintenance of ski trails: grazed, the grass keeps the snow and reduces the risk of avalanches.
