Charles Bridge is one of the architectural masterpieces of Prague. Built in sandstone, it straddles the Vltava's 515 meters long and 10 meters wide. Charles Bridge is bounded by two towers: Tower Bridge and the Lesser Town Bridge Towers Old Town. |

To cope with the flood of the Vltava, buildings in wood and trunks of trees protect the pillars of ice blocks being transported by river.
The bridge is dotted with unusual statues of stone and bronze, constructed from 1683 to 1928.
