Los Haïtices, an almost mythical place in the Dominican Republic! The country has no fewer than 12 national parks and a dozen reserves. If there is a national park to visit in priority, it's Los Haitices. The park is world famous for at least 2 reasons:
- humpback whales come to recharge in Samana Bay during the winter of the Northern Emisphere
- preserved as part of the Samana Peninsula has long been a privileged place for the Taino Indians, early inhabitants of places, which have left many traces.

Access to Samana
It is possible to get to Samana from Puerto Plata, the road is of good quality (national). From the south we can go to the Samana Bay by visiting the town of Sabana de la Mar De Saint-Domingue the last 1 / 3 of road is chaotic but feasible for this - long day. It is also feasible for Boca de Yuma and Punta Cana (still + long)
