The location crew of Christopher Columbus in the Dominican Republic and especially in Santo Domingo is due to chance, the Pinta had soaked in Santo Domingo ... Columbus left a garrison in Santo Domingo and leaves for Europe. Appointed Viceroy of India, he also moved to Santo Domingo. The construction of the house dates from 1510. The home and alcazar NEWS Columbus b> is composed of 2 levels, first used in the home, kitchens and accommodation for servants and slaves, the latter being reserved for the family. The building has a twenty room. This is not a palace, but the house would be the height of the Viceroy of India and his 7 children.

Columbus superstitious
Columbus was very superstitious! While the entry he is placed under the protection of St. John the Baptist and Christ, placed above his apostles. For fear of ghosts, the house and the main entrance room is plastered with animal heads on the ceilings. The idea is to hunt ghosts. We also found a head in the upstairs lounge.

Columbus and music
The music room hosted the harp and mandolin, classical instruments of the sixteenth century. Particularly amusing chair of mercy , or rather the seat of hypocrisy: not really a chair, this location allowed the audience to stand while simulating ipeu interest, even if very tired.
